The Offspring and The Dave Matthews Band will be touring all winter and will need food pick ups at the arenas. More information to follow.
TESTIMONIAL DINNER
Our second meeting was held to plan our first annual benefit testimonial dinner "Rock the Towers",will be held a at Windows on the World in New York, NY on Wed. April 25, 2001. For those out of town regional directors, this party may be worth a trip to the Big Apple. We will be honoring one of our board members, Leslie Leventman, one of the founders of MTV. We are beginning to form committees. Help is needed on the dinner, journal raffle and publicity committees. Please contact Aimee Holtzman to volunteer to work on these committees.

BETHEL FOOD PROGRAM
The Bethel Rock and Wrap Food Program conducted its first holiday party and over 80 people volunteered on Saturday, December 23, 2000. Over 500 children and adults were given gifts. Lawrence Public Schools, Long Beach Public Schools, MTV, Viacom, Ellman Medical, DeSetta Nursery, Steve Katz, Howard Levine and Temple Beth El Hebrew School helped make this into a huge event.
SCHOOL PROGRAMS
New Rock and Wrap It Up! school programs have started in Knickerbocker NY and Battle Creek MI.
MAGAZINE COVERAGE
RWU will be featured in the January 15th 2001 issue of Relix magazine. Relix is still the magazine of the Grateful Dead and their fans.
ELECTION NIGHT
Everyone Wins On Election Night 2000 collected over 12,500 pounds of food from our national effort.
CORPORATE CONTRACT
Our corporate response to hunger, Project We Share, did it's first contract with a major hotel. Double Tree Hotel of Austin TX has contractually obligated food to RWU from annual meetings in 2002, 2003 and 2004. Much thanks to Dana Gale, Project Coordinator for Government Finance Officers Association of Texas (GFOAT), whose organization contracted with Double Tree. Dana attended a workshop on fighting hunger, given by Rock and Wrap It Up in Houston TX in November, 2000.
